Black Friday changes the rules in technology: refurbished products become the preferred choice of Romanians

Black Friday 2025 marks an important moment for the tech market: more and more Romanians choose refurbished products when they buy a phone, laptop or gadget. Flip.ro, the most popular online store of refurbished products in Central and Eastern Europe, has already exceeded 35 million lei in sales in the first 10 days of the campaign.

Over 14,000 customers have chosen Flip.ro during this period, and the interest is constantly growing, especially for premium models. On the first day of Black Friday, the most sought-after devices were the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, confirming consumers' preference for high-end phones with a more affordable price.

The enthusiasm was visible right from the teasing period: over 60,000 people from Romania and from three other countries, Bulgaria, Hungary and Greece, subscribed to the Flip.ro newsletter to follow the offers.

This year's campaign comes with double the stock of 2024 and 10,000 products at the lowest price of the year, making Black Friday an ideal time for smart shopping. The offer covers over 22,000 devices, with discounts of up to 1,000 lei, from phones and laptops to tablets, smart watches and consoles.

For Genius customers, the benefits are even more substantial: at least an additional 50 lei discount on each order, free shipping and access to a dedicated product selection.

The growing interest in refurbished is no accident. In western countries like France or Great Britain, 1 in 5 phones sold is refurbished. Romania follows the same trend, and Flip estimates show that 1 in 10 phones sold on the local market is already refurbished, a number that is increasing year by year.

The increase in trust comes from the quality of the products: every phone, tablet or laptop on Flip.ro goes through up to 67 hardware and software tests, benefits from a 2-year warranty and a 30-day free return (60 days for Genius customers).

Yet, Flip sold over 687,000 devices in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Greece, and customer satisfaction remains at a high level: 94% say they are very satisfied with the quality of the products.

The Black Friday campaign continues until November 30, and the offers can be consulted on the platform.
