Not only Rafał Trzaskowski. Here are the greatest losers of elections

When Donald Tusk returned to Polish politics, he did not hide his purpose. He wanted to move Jarosław Kaczyński constantly from power. While in 2023 it succeeded, he was now defeated.
Anyway, for the prime minister the election result is double devastating. On the one hand, Karol Nawrocki will be a great brake government, which will probably block the lion's majority of laws. On the other – Tusk must recognize that Nawrocki's winning effect of dissatisfaction with the work of his office.
Wioletta Paprocka and Sławomir Nitras
Rafał Trzaskowski faced a candidate who was almost completely unknown to the public a year ago. In addition, Karol Nawrocki was a hero of numerous scandals from which he could not explain himself. Despite all this, Trzaskowski's staff failed to lead the campaign so that the president of the capital was the first at the finish.

Certainly, Wioletta Paprocka, the chief of Trzaskowski Staff, can be included in the group of great losers. Earlier Paprocka was, among others Chief of the KO staff in the 2023 election and a long -time associate of Rafał Trzaskowski. The staff also included Sports Minister Sławomir Nitras.

Szymon Hołownia
Hołownia has been repeatedly referred to as the great hope of Polish politics. In the presidential election in 2020 he took a strong third place. After the parliamentary election in 2023, he became a very popular Speaker of the Sejm.
In these elections, however, Hołownia did not even win 5 percent. His third road is also doing very badly in the polls. Hołownia could, however, pass Sunday evening relatively successful if his candidate won – Hołownia was one of the first first league politicians who supported Trzaskowski. The KO candidate, however, lost, which is another political problem for the Speaker of the Sejm.
Mateusz Morawiecki
The key PiS politicians are in champagne moods, and former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also shows satisfaction. But is it so happy? Doubtful.
It is no big secret that Morawiecki wanted to be president himself. He did not start this year – and now he has minimal chances to become a PiS candidate in five years.
But that's not all. Many analysts thought that if Karol Nawrocki loses, Morawiecki could dig holes under the president of PiS – or even put on his own formation. Meanwhile, we have a completely different dynamics on the political stage. Nawrocki's win would not have been possible were it not for the PiS and the Confederation's alliance, which may formalize after future parliamentary elections. This is a bad scenario for Morawiecki. For the confederation and its electorate, Morawiecki is the face of Covid restrictions and Polish order. So if the election is the beginning of the broad cooperation of PiS and the confederation, then in such a hand Mateusz Morawiecki cannot count on too much.
Politicians of the coalition left
Certainly Włodzimierz Czarzasty or Magdalena Biejat are not in the best moods. It is clear that Poland goes to the right, which, of course, is not good news for them.
Biejat decided to support Trzaskowski in the second round, but this did not translate into election success. Adrian Zandberg did not give a clear support to the KO candidate, who, moreover, achieved a better result in the first round than Biejat. It is difficult to say that these elections are successful for the Polish left – but they are certainly a disaster for the coalition of the new left. The mood in the Together party – that is Zandberg's group, is certainly much better.
