Pampers celebrates the little fighters born prematurely and continues its annual diaper donation to maternity hospitals

For premature babies, every day is a struggle. And every gram gained, every breath taken to the end and every smile is a huge “bravo” that deserves to be celebrated.

In Romania, thousands of babies are born prematurely (approximately 10% of the total number of births), each day representing for them a struggle for survival. But as small and frail as their bodies are, which can weigh only 500 grams, the determination to live is great.
Since 2018, Pampers, a Procter & Gamble brand, continues to donate diapers specially created for premature babies to maternity hospitals in Romania, to ensure that every little one has the best start, including for their delicate skin. The Pampers Preemie Protection diaper is 3 times smaller than a normal newborn diaper and offers premature babies the comfort they need for healthy development.
Pampers Preemie Protection Diapers were developed with NICU nurses, designed to support premature babies in those crucial first days.
· They are made of soft materials: Soft fibers and cuffs provide comfort to babies' delicate skin.
· Keeps skin dry: Thousands of micropores allow air to circulate through the diaper to help keep babies' skin dry.
· Provides full protection against leaks: The absorbent layer traps dirt, and the soft sides and double-layer cuffs help prevent leaks.
In addition, in 2025, Pampers chooses to celebrate the strength of these little fighters through a collection of toys, called “Sweet Victories”, which encourages the beautiful stories behind each victory of premature babies.
Thus, Pampers wants to emphasize the turmoil and struggle that parents of premature babies go through until the big victory: going home safely. A cause for celebration not just for them, isolated in their struggle and stress in Neonatal Intensive Care Units, but for the entire community. A way to make them feel like they are never alone and an encouragement that everything will be okay.
“For a mother whose baby is born prematurely, the journey from Neonatal Intensive Care to home is a succession of risks, emotions and challenges.
Every step forward, every steady breath, every gram gained becomes a great victory towards the long-awaited moment of discharge.
Children born too early, too small and too fragile, need all our care – the family, the professionals and the whole community.
Gentle touch and care during hospitalization is essential for their development.
I welcome Pampers' initiative to donate diapers specially created for premature babies and thank them for being a strategic partner for us since 2018, dedicated to these children who need real chances, not just hope.” said Corina Croitoru, mother of twins born prematurely, founding member and president of ARNIS – the Romanian Association for Long-Hospitalized Newborns.
