Gicu Grozav, after Petrolul – Argeș 2-1: “I was stepped on my ankle”
At the end of the game, Gicu Grozav spoke both about the victory achieved and about a controversial phase in which he requested a penalty kick.
“It was a nice feeling. It was an important game, we were coming off a good run of games where we didn't lose and we wanted to get the 3 points again tonight. We knew it was going to be a tough game and like I said, I'm glad we managed to win in the end.
I felt contact and fell. I didn't even think it wouldn't check. I was stepped on the ankle, clear contact, 100% penalty from my point of viewbut that's it, we're moving on. Even if we were losing, for me it was a clear foul, but it seems that it was not considered enough contact to be analyzed by VAR.
I'm upset that I can barely step on my ankle, but I'm glad I got the 3 points. There were difficult trips to Dinamo and Rapid, but little by little it seems that we are recovering and accumulating points that we really need. I hope we can maintain this good form for as long as possible,” Gicu Grozav said in the flash interview.
