In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police uncovered the theft of 800 thousand rubles from the bank account of a deceased woman.

The press service said that at the end of September, a woman contacted the police duty station of the Kuraginsky municipal district with a report of theft from the account of her deceased daughter. The police conducted an investigation and found that three citizens may be involved in the disappearance.

“As the police established, a 32-year-old resident of the village of Alekseevka and his 33-year-old partner came to a friend’s house and found her body without signs of life. Then the guests took the woman’s phone, called the funeral service and left for the village of Novopokrovka. There, the accomplices turned to a 36-year-old friend with a request to help them enter someone else's online banking account through an application installed on the smartphone they stole. At the same time, the accomplices initially did not tell their friend who owned the gadget,” the police said.

The man helped his roommates, after which they admitted that the phone was stolen, its owner had died and she would not need the money stored in her account. The couple invited the man to spend other people's finances together. The attackers bought a battery, car parts, gold jewelry, alcoholic drinks, food, as well as a camouflage suit and combat boots. Some of the stolen funds were used to pay for a taxi.

Police officers detained the criminal trio, seized the property they had acquired and the remaining 576 thousand rubles. As a result of the proceedings, the cohabitants became defendants in a criminal case initiated under paragraph “d” of Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and their friend – under Part 1 of Article 175 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
