The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation issued JSC Boguchanskaya HPP a certificate of readiness for operation in the heating season of 2025-2026.
The monitoring confirmed compliance by the plant personnel with the requirements of the Russian legislation on industrial safety and did not reveal any violations of an organizational or technical nature. The decision on the readiness of the facility is made by the Ministry based on the value of the “readiness index”, calculated on the basis of data on the fulfillment by plant personnel of the readiness conditions and indicators recorded in the “Rules for assessing the readiness of electric power industry entities to work during the heating season.”
“The main task of the team in the upcoming critical period is to ensure uninterrupted production and supply of electricity to consumers. To do this, it is necessary to maintain the operation of main and auxiliary equipment at a high level, monitor the condition of hydraulic structures and comply with industrial safety requirements. In preparation for the heating season, the plant’s personnel were trained to practice interaction in eliminating accidents in low temperature conditions, and an irreducible emergency supply of materials and technical resources was created,” the press service of BoGES said.

In 2025, at the Boguchanskaya HPP, in accordance with the approved program, scheduled routine repairs were carried out on all units and major repairs of hydraulic units No. 5 and 9. In particular, the guide bearings of hydraulic generators were repaired, repairs and maintenance of turbine auxiliary equipment were carried out, stators were inspected after operating a set number of hours, as well as the position of the rotor and stator elements of the hydrogenerator was inspected and adjusted. The schedule of major and current repairs at the Boguchanskaya HPP is designed in such a way as to minimize the downtime of the units.
The temporary decommissioning of hydraulic units and other equipment did not affect the stability of energy supply to consumers. In 2025, the Angara Cascade hydroelectric power stations operate under conditions of average water availability: water flow through the hydroelectric units of the Boguchanskaya HPP in January-October amounted to 3,138 cubic meters per second, in the same period in 2024 – 3,778 cubic meters. Electricity production at the Boguchanskaya HPP corresponds to design indicators: from January 1 to November 1, 2025, the station produced 14 billion 436.1 million kWh, and since the launch of the first units in October 2012 – more than 193 billion 571 million kWh of electricity.
Checking the readiness of equipment at power plants and power grid facilities is carried out in accordance with the “Rules for assessing the readiness of electric power industry entities to operate during the heating season.” The rules apply to electric power industry entities that own electrical grid facilities with the highest class rated voltage of 110 kV and higher, and electrical energy production facilities with a total installed capacity of 25 MW or more.
Information on the technological performance indicators of energy companies is received throughout the year, which makes it possible to monitor the preparation of stations and networks in a continuous mode.
