Just one day after Bosnia – Romania 3-1a first league soccer referee was arrested after fatally shooting a woman in a restaurant in the center of Mostar.

His name is Anis Kalajdzic, according to sportsport.ba. He is 33 years old, and the tragic event allegedly happened in the restaurant toilet.

Immediately after the murder, the assistant referee allegedly tried to kill himself, but his gun jammed. The police immediately arrested him and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

Anis Kalajdzic allegedly obtained the gun permit last month, according to local media. He cited the fact that he is a referee and receives a lot of threats, considering the decisions he makes. Police in Mostar are currently investigating and the motive for the crime is unknown.

The victim would even be the girlfriend of the assistant referee, but the information is not officially confirmed. He would have threatened her recently.

A prosecutor of the Hercegovina Neretva Canton Prosecutor's Office stated that the victim did not go to the police for the threats she received, although they were real.

The film of the tragedy, not officially confirmed: the moment the woman left the gym, the aggressor was waiting for her, took out the gun and attacked her. She ran to a restaurant in the area to save herself. She managed to call the police, but the referee caught and killed her.

The information regarding the suicide attempt is not confirmed.

Anis Kalajdzic is the son of Velez Mostar club legend, Avdo Kalajdzic. It remains to be seen how this case will be resolved, considering that the assistant was caught by the police.
