At this point, I can't imagine joining any club, group or party – said Paulina Matysiak on Friday; On Wednesday, the Razem party announced that the MP had been removed from its list of members.

In a statement from the Razem National Board, issued on Wednesday on the According to Razem, Matysiak's actions did not take into account the party's strategy to “build an alternative to PO-PiS.” Last Sunday, the two-day Razem congress ended, during which a new regulation was adopted allowing the exclusion of party members who act to its detriment or contrary to its program assumptions.
On Friday, on Radio Jedynka, Matysiak was asked about the accusation against her of having “one foot in Law and Justice” and whether she could imagine joining this party.
– At this point, I can't imagine joining any club, group or party – she replied.
When asked whether she ruled out running from the PiS list in the 2027 parliamentary elections, Matysiak said that “there is no such proposal at all.” She added that there was no proposal to run from the Left lists.
– It is not known whether I will run for the Sejm at all or whether I will run somewhere else. Or maybe I will just focus on activities related to public transport, because I am also considering that – added the MP.
On Radio Zet, Matysiak emphasized on Friday that she is an MP with left-wing beliefs, and therefore she does not understand the “strong desire” to sign her up to the right. When asked when she would resign from her parliamentary seat – as she no longer represented Razem voters, Matysiak said that an MP who had been expelled from the party did not have to resign from her seat. She emphasized that she had not changed her beliefs, and the people who voted for her “really know how she will behave on specific issues”, for example on the issue of civil partnerships.
The MP said that she would continue to deal with, among others, issues related to infrastructure, transport exclusion and State Treasury companies.
In response to Wednesday's announcement from the Razem board, Matysiak wrote that in 2017, when she joined the party, she counted on building a left that was “inclusive, not hermetic.” “Today, in 2025, when I was excluded from this party, I am still convinced that we need a left that is open to different points of view and different social circles, not one that is sectarian.” She also announced that from now on she will be an unaffiliated MP.
Paulina Matysiak was previously suspended from Razem membership rights after she, together with PiS MP Marcin Horała, announced in July last year the establishment of the “Yes for Development” social movement, which was to focus on supporting the development of investments in CPK, nuclear power plants and the Polish army. Together, it suspended its membership rights in December of the same year. (PAP)
