The President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, invited the president of the Supreme Medical Council, Łukasz Jankowski, to a meeting on Wednesday, the head of the president's office, Paweł Głosernaker, announced on Tuesday on website X. Earlier, the president of the medical self-government asked the president and Prime Minister Donald Tusk for a meeting.

Paweł Głosernaker informed in his entry that the meeting scheduled for Wednesday, to which President Karol Nawrocki invited the president Supreme Medical Council Łukasz Jankowski is supposed to concern “the tragic situation of Polish Health Care”.
“The President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, invited the president of NIL, Łukasz Jankowski, to a meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, November 19, 2025) regarding the tragic situation of Polish Health Care” – he wrote on X.
NIL told PAP that the meeting with the president will take place at 14.
The Supreme Medical Chamber announced earlier on Tuesday that it had sent requests for an immediate meeting to Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Karol Nawrocki. “In the face of growing threats to the functioning of the health care system in Poland and the lack of possibility of dialogue with the Ministry of Health, as well as numerous signals about the dramatic financial situation of medical facilities and the postponement of services for patients, the President of the Supreme Medical Chamber requests an immediate meeting with the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic of Poland. Relevant documents with the request have been sent formally,” the medical self-government said in a statement.
According to NIL, the current situation in health care directly affects the health security of citizens due to information from numerous hospital departments about the lack of funds and the need to postpone or suspend the provision of services.
After the medical self-government published a statement, the Ministry of Health informed PAP that the ministry proposed a meeting to the Supreme Medical Chamber, but the invitation was rejected.
Jakub Gołąb, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, told PAP on Tuesday that the ministry proposed a meeting of the Supreme Medical Council on November 12 at the Dialog Social Partnership Center. – The meeting with the participation of Deputy Minister of Health Katarzyna Kęcka and experts would concern remuneration in health care and cooperation between the ministry and the medical community. However, the invitation was rejected by the president of NRL, Łukasz Jankowski – said the spokesman.
In a letter sent to the Ministry of Health, the head of the medical self-government assessed that the Minister of Health, Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda, should participate in the meeting.
– We are open to conversations. However, there is a division of competences in the ministry, and social dialogue, i.e., among others, talks with the Supreme Medical Chamberare within the competences of Deputy Minister Kęcka – added Jakub Gołąb.
President Karol Nawrocki, in an interview for the latest issue of “Do Rzeczy”, speaking about the health care crisis, noted that “it is, of course, a consequence of the terrible state of public finances and leading to a situation in which oncology patients cannot get to hospitals.” “This may also be the subject of a cabinet meeting to which I will invite the Polish government,” he added.
