The richest man in Bosnia accommodated the Romanians in Zenica » He has over a billion euros, but explains why he prefers second-hand cars

Arriving in Bosnia on Thursday, the Romanian national team stayed at the Zenica Hotel, owned by the richest businessman in the country, Senad Dzambic, a discreet character with a fortune of over 1 billion euros.
As in the previous two occasions, the “tricolor” delegation chose to stay at the 4-star hotel near the city center, but also only 300 meters from the stadium where Lucescu's students will meet Bosnia. The establishment, as well as the shopping center next door, belong to a Bosnian businessman involved in several fields.
Who is Senad Dzambic, the man who owns the hotel where Romania stayed in Bosnia

Dzambic has an estimated fortune of 1.1 billion euros, making him the richest man in Bosnia. This is despite his modest origins: he was the sixth child of his parents, his father was a miner and he holds a degree as an electrician.
He revealed in an interview with Forbes that he started making money in the 80s with honey.
“Before the war, in 1985, my brothers and I had 120 beehives. We were producing 30 tons of honey a year. Then we started having pool tables, slot and poker machines and pool tables. From here I chose the name «Bingo» for my supermarket chain and for my company. I didn't make money by winning the lottery, I made money by working. And everything I obtained, I reinvested”, said Dzambic.

The Bosnian press writes that Senad Dzambic remains a discreet character and that he continued to live in a 100 square meter apartment in the city of Tuzla for a long time.
“I lived in an apartment for a long time, but we have four children and we moved into a house. A small one. On my street, only one house is smaller than mine. The rest are bigger. I recently bought a car, a second-hand BMW 7 Series. Why buy a new car when in a year it's worth half?”, said Dzambic in 2015, when Forbes already considered him one of the richest people in the country.
Over the years, the Bingo company kept growing, and through it Dzambic began to invest in more and more areas. In 2024, it generated revenues of over 2 billion marks, i.e. 1 billion euros, with profits estimated at 100 million.
“My group now has 20 companies. We have founded new companies and revived giants of the Bosnian economy,” says Dzambic.
And now Dzambic has expanded its financial empire into Bosnia. He entered the energy market, owns a chain of gas stations, is a majority shareholder in the largest aluminum production company in the country, owns 20% of the coal mine in Milijevina, bought a snack factory, a furniture factory, a textile factory and also owns the chemical company Dita 1977.
And from 2022, the group led by Dzambic also owns Hotel Zenica, the one where the Romanian national team stays.
“I don't take the money I make and deposit it in banks abroad. Everything I earn, I continue to invest. We want to be present in every corner of the country. God chose me to go before my people and support local production. We must believe in ourselves, know what we are capable of. We must work for the progress of Bosnia”, said Dzambic.
