In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a young resident of the Balakhtinsky district was convicted of illegally shooting roe deer.

The prosecutor's office said that in January-February 2025, a 23-year-old hunter from the region went into the forest several times on a Taiga-500 snowmobile. He did not have a hunting permit or a permit, but he shot 9 Siberian roe deer.

At the trial, the young man said that in the summer of 2024 he found an IZH-58 20-caliber double-barreled shotgun near the Zhura River. He took the gun home and didn't tell anyone about it. In the fall, he bought a snowmobile for 150 thousand rubles and in the winter he began going into the forest, supposedly to shoot at targets.

“I shot at the target, then I saw two roe deer and pulled the trigger,” the guy said during the investigation. He refused to testify at the trial.

Over four trips, the guy caused 360 thousand rubles worth of damage to the state, and 1.4 million rubles to the ecosystem. He voluntarily reimbursed 500 thousand rubles.

The court found him guilty of illegal hunting and sentenced him to correctional labor for 1 year 3 months with the deduction of 5% of his salary in favor of the state. The work will be conditional, with a probationary period for the same period. The snowmobile was confiscated in favor of the state, and the gun was transferred to the national troops. The court also ordered the guy to pay the remaining amount of damage.
