Tens of thousands of people evacuated from Koln to defuse some bombs. The risk radius was set to 1,000 meters

About 20,000 people living in the center of Koln, western Germany, are to be evacuated on Tuesday so that the authorities can safely defy three bombs in World War II, discovered Monday on the Rhine, EFE, taken over by Agerpres.
The bombs, launched during an allies raid, of American manufacturing, were found during prospecting in the Deutzer Werft area, according to a statement, and will be defused on Tuesday.
The risk radius was set 1,000 meters around the place where the projectiles were found, affecting about 20,000 residents of this perimeter.
The municipality of Koln warned that the evacuation will start at 06:00 GMT and that the operation will be complicated due to the fact that there are several critical infrastructures, including Eduardus Hospital and two old homes.
Also, three bridges will be affected over the RIN, river navigation, part of the railway traffic south of the central station, as well as several urban public transport lines.
The defamation operation will also have consequences for Tuesday's activity of the municipality of Koln -the fourth most populated German city, with just over one million inhabitants -to be closed several buildings of the local administration and event rooms. They will also stop the activity of several big companies, nine educational institutions and 58 hotels in the old city, among many other institutions.
Mass evacuations due to the discovery of bombs in World War II are frequent in Germany, but this is one of the most massive registered in Koln in recent years.
