A resident of Balakhta set up a warehouse of marijuana in a barn and was caught by the police

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a resident of the Balakhtinsky district was detained, suspected of possessing a large quantity of drugs.
Police discovered that a 55-year-old man was illegally storing about 3 kilograms of dried marijuana in his outbuilding. The drug was discovered by law enforcement officers. Marijuana was scattered in the woodshed. She was seized and sent for testing, which confirmed the presence of a prohibited substance.
According to the detainee, he collected the plants on his own near his home. The drug was allegedly intended exclusively for personal consumption.
Based on this fact, the police investigative authorities opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in part two of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of narcotic substances”). The maximum penalty under this article is ten years in prison.
