The captain of the national team of Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo (40 years old), laughed when he heard about the possibility of scoring the goal number 1000 of his career right in the final of the World Cup in 2026.

“You guys are watching too many movies! It's too perfect to happen. Let's get back to reality! Of course, all these figures make me happy. The national team never depends on just one player, but these statistics remain very positive.

Cristiano Ronaldo started his career at Sporting Lisbon, and in 2003 he was making the move to the Premier League, at Manchester United, after the “red devils” paid 19 million euros for the Portuguese footballer.
After 6 seasons at “Old Trafford”, during which he won numerous trophies, including a Champions League and 3 Premier League titles, Ronaldo was transferring to Real Madrid. Together with “Los Blancos” he won 4 Champions Leagues.
A 3-season stint at Juventus then followed, a season-and-a-half return to Manchester United, and then a move to Al-Nassr in early 2023.
Holder of 5 Golden Balls, Cristiano Ronaldo also has 3 trophies with the Portuguese national team, a European Championship in 2016, and two Nations Leagues, in 2019 and 2025.
