“Very ambitious calendar”. Albanian Prime Minister announced until he wants to end the EU accession negotiations

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama told Brussels that his country is committed to fulfill all the requirements until 2027 to conclude the accession process of accession to the European Union (EU), in which a new chapter will open, EFE, taken over by Agerpres.
“There is a lot to discuss, but in general they are motivated by these developments and we are deeply employed to fulfill all the obligations established in a very ambitious calendar to conclude all negotiations until 2027,” said Prime Minister Edi Rama in a short press statement, along with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.
From Brussels, the Albanian prime minister has left for Luxembourg, where this afternoon will take place the fourth ministerial meeting of the Accession Conference with Albania in which the second group of chapters that make up the negotiation process will be opened, which deals with the internal market.
'It's a very good day for us because we have another conference and we open new chapters. I thank President Costa for his time to discuss the progress we make and the summit of the European Political Community, “said the head of the Albanian government.
Albania will host the summit of the European political community in mid -May. This event dedicated to discussing the future of the continent will bring together heads of state and government in member and non -member countries.
For his part, Antonio Costa said that the accession of countries in Western Balkans is a political priority for the EU and announced that it will personally visit the six countries in this region during May to promote cooperation between them.
“The extension to the Western Balkans is our true commitment to the region and the most important geopolitical investment for peace, prosperity and stability on our continent,” said the president of the European Council.
As for Albania, Costa mentioned that the goal would be to open new chapters of the negotiation process this year to meet the established calendar.
“It is very important for Albania, but I think it is also an important signal for the region,” the European official said.
