Vladimir Putin's health is again a topic of discussion. Recent pictures of the Russian president show a swollen right hand with prominent veins, reigniting speculation about his health, La Libre Belgique newspaper wrote on Wednesday.
During a visit to a sports complex, the 72-year-old Russian leader appeared visibly uncomfortable, struggling to clench his right hand. Several observers noted an unusual stiffness and signs of discomfort, Rador Radio Romania cites.
Comments flooded social media, particularly from Ukrainian sources.
“Putin has a problem with his hands,” noted Anton Gerashchenko, a former adviser to Ukraine's Interior Ministry. “His veins are swollen and his hand looks painful,” added Ukrainian journalist Dmitro Gordon.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the state of health of the Russian president has fueled numerous theories: Parkinson's disease, cancer or intensive medical treatments.
Photos that have circulated in recent years have shown drip marks, a dark spot on his hand and a shaking leg during a filmed encounter.
None of these rumors have ever been confirmed by the Kremlin, which remains silent on the matter.
