The interim president of the USR Dominic Fritz said that the ANI law will have to be rewritten by the Parliament as a result of the decision of the Constitutional Court that has forbidden the publication of the state employees' statements, after the motivation of the RCC decision will be analyzed. On the other hand, Fritz claims that ANI has fulfilled “partinically” the duties so that great assets were not found in the statements of wealth.
“The anti-corruption fight is not over. Now we are focusing on what we have to do: USR proposes to quickly review the legislation so that this vital tool of anti-corruption fight, transparency of dignitaries, is not lost,” wrote Dominic Fritz, in a Facebook post.
The USR leader claims that ANI, together with ANAF, have become inefficient institutions in recent years, statements of wealth and interests being “a water gun”
“The National Integrity Agency (but also ANAF) applied the partinic law or closed their eyes. It is time to open them. We know all the press investigations about colossal assets that were not found in wealth statements,” says Dominic Fritz.
He states that the modification of the law years according to the wishes of the Constitutional Court will have to be followed by the reform of the National Integrity Agency.
“Let's make sure they have the tools to do their job. To use technology to automatically and correctly check the wealth of dignitaries. They must be led by honest people,” Fritz concluded.
