Poles have a new favorite country for holidays


The latest data from the Malta Statistical Office, covering the period January-September 2025, show that the number of tourists from Poland after three quarters exceeded their number from the entire 2024.
In the first nine months of 2025, 280,000 people visited Malta. tourists from Poland. For comparison, in the whole of 2024 this number was 264 thousand. In terms of the number of arrivals from Europe, Poland was in third place, behind only Great Britain (639 thousand) and Italy (471.8 thousand), and ahead of France (234.5 thousand) and Germany (193 thousand).
The largest share of tourists visiting Malta are travelers aged 25-44 (35.4%), followed by people aged 45-64 (29.5%).
In total, tourists from Great Britain, Italy and Poland constitute 46%. all arrivals to Malta.

This is how much Poles spend
During the analyzed period, Poles spent a total of EUR 218.32 million in Malta, which also means a 50% increase year on year. The average expenditure per capita amounted to 778 euros, which not only once again exceeded the level of Italian tourists (664 euros), but is approaching the level of Spanish tourists (803 euros).
Poland thus found itself among the countries with the highest growth dynamics in tourist expenditures – a higher growth was recorded only in the case of the Irish market.
The growing popularity of Malta among Poles today is due to more than just the availability of direct connections. The year-round effect is key. Malta successfully attracts Polish tourists thanks to over 300 sunny days a year and a mild winter, offering an escape from the Polish weather – comments John Mary Attard, regional director of the Malta Tourism Authority in Warsaw.
