On November 25in Bucharest, in the middle of the shopping season and the pressure to have “more, faster, newer”, The ENVIRON association in partnership with Eco Synergy organizes a different conference – Sustainable day by day. This year's edition “Consumption that consumes us” starts from a simple question: why do we use up our resources — material, financial, emotional by always buying more?
We have more phones than people on Earth and enough clothes to clothe 6 generations from now.
Between 2016 and 2021, we globally consumed more than 75% of what we did in the entire 20th century, and as of 2020 impulse purchases have increased by up to 72% (according to The Circularity Gap Report 2024).

Consumption, the biggest environmental problem we have, does not depend on giants – corporations, industries, authorities, but on each of us. The way we reflect on the decisions we make and what we do every day.
On the “Sustainable everyday” stage, specialists such as Thomas Kolster (founder of Goodvertising Agency), Alina Vîlcu (architect) and Mihai Neagu (CEO Perla Harghitei) will explore the reasons and real costs of consumption, as well as the factors that influence purchase decisions, together with other experts from different fields and industries, to offer a 360° perspective on this phenomenon.
“Between Black Friday and Christmas, the time of year when we consume more than ever we talk about habits, temptation, waste and personal power. About purchases that start in our mind, continue in the basket and spill over into the home, the office and the rest of the world.” – Roxana Puia, ENVIRON Communications Director.
For the 4th consecutive year, “Sustenabil zi de zi” approaches sustainability in depth, putting in the foreground themes relevant to communities, companies and their future together. Participation is free, but places are limited and can be secured HERE.
