The court demands documents from Dawtona. The company is silent on the reports


After last week's agreement between Vice-President Dawtona and the National Support Center for Agriculture, it is possible to regain the controversial plot of land that has been discussed since October. This concerns 160 hectares intended for the high-speed railway tracks to the CPK, which the company's vice-president Piotr Wielgomas acquired at the end of 2023, just before the end of the “two-week” government of Mateusz Morawiecki, reports Wirtualna Polska.

No financial reports
The National Court Register shows that the last available report covers the period from June 1, 2021 to May 30, 2022, when the company generated a profit of PLN 33.7 million. Documents for the periods from mid-2022, 2023 and 2024 have not been published, and they are also missing in the KRS financial statement browser. She has not responded to Wirtualna Polska's questions about the reasons for the lack of Dawton's reports since last Tuesday.
Court proceedings
– In the 14th Commercial Division of the National Court Register, proceedings initiated ex officio are pending, aimed at forcing the entity to submit financial statements for the years: June 1, 2022 – May 31, 2023 and June 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024 – says Magdalena Baran, president of the District Court for the Capital City of Warsaw. The court requests the submission of documents under penalty of a fine provided for in the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure on the enforcement of non-monetary benefits. In practice, Dawtona has seven days to complete the missing documents. If she does not do this, she may face a fine of up to PLN 15,000. PLN for one decision, and the total amount of penalties in the same proceedings may not exceed PLN 1 million.
Company history and size
Dawtona is a Polish food giant founded by Andrzej Wielgomas, known as the “king of ketchup”, father of Piotr Wielgomas. From a small tomato processing plant, the company has transformed into one of the largest domestic food empires. Currently, Dawtona has over 4.5 thousand. ha of its own fields, cooperates with approximately 2,000 Polish farmers and employs approximately 1.2 thousand employees.
In 2021, the reins of the company were handed over to Danuta Wielgomas and her sons, including Piotr, vice-president and co-owner. The president from 2022 is Paweł Wielgomas, Piotr's brother. It was Piotr Wielgomas who purchased the plot in December 2023, paying PLN 22.8 million for it. The land had been leased since 2008 by people related to the company and previously belonged to the National Support Center for Agriculture, which sold it despite signals that it was located in the planned CPK investment zone.
Prosecutor's investigation
The case of the plot is being handled by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, which is conducting an investigation into the abuse of powers by KOWR employees in order to obtain financial benefits. The proceedings cover the period from the beginning of 2023 until the sale of the plot, reports Wirtualna Polska.
