In Krasnoyarsk, a high-ranking police officer will stand trial for bribery

In Krasnoyarsk, a criminal investigation has been completed against the former deputy head of the criminal investigation department of the regional police in a bribery case. This was reported by the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee for the region.
Investigators found that from January 2018 to September 2021, the police officer received a bribe in the amount of 114 thousand rubles from the head of a consumer credit cooperative. For this, the accused provided information from the departmental database on an ongoing basis.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (an official personally receives a bribe in the form of money in a significant amount for illegal actions). The case materials were provided by employees of the regional FSB Directorate of the Russian Federation.

“During the investigation, the defendant admitted guilt in committing the crime, he is in custody. The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office for approval of the indictment and subsequent referral to court for consideration on the merits,” the press service of the regional investigative department clarified.
In connection with the voluntary confession of transferring the bribe and cooperation with the investigation, the bribe giver is exempt from criminal liability.
