In Krasnoyarsk, a drunk driver who tried to escape from the police was sent to the dock

In Krasnoyarsk, a man will appear in court for repeated drunk driving, the regional police reported.

In July 2025, the crew of the traffic police regiment, who were on duty on Daurskaya Street, decided to stop the Nissan Pulsar to check documents. The driver drove past, then sped up and tried to escape.

He was unable to break away from the chase. On Montazhnikov Street, he stopped the car and tried to escape, but was caught.

“DPS inspectors noticed that the man smelled of alcohol and conducted an examination. As a result, the device recorded the presence of 0.72 mg/l in the air he exhaled. The driver was suspended from driving the vehicle, and the car was placed in a specialized parking lot. As the accused explained to the police, he was at the dacha and drinking alcohol, but suddenly he remembered that he might have forgotten to turn off the stove on which the saucepan was standing. The man came home, made sure that everything was fine, and decided to return to the dacha,” the police said.

During the inspection, law enforcement officers found that the 30-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident had already been deprived of his rights – in the summer of this year he was convicted of committing a crime under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and was sentenced to 200 hours of compulsory labor and deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to driving vehicles for a period of 24 months.

A criminal case was initiated against a resident of the regional center under Part 2 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Driving a car by a person who is intoxicated and has a criminal record for committing a crime while intoxicated under Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the investigation of which has been completed. The maximum sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years. The accused was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior. The investigation materials have been submitted to the court.
