Tragic news from the Tournament of Champions: Two men lost their lives today, November 10, during the tournament in Turin. According to Italian media, they are men aged 70 and 78.
While one of the fans was hurt in the fan zone, while the other man was hurt right in the stands, during the match between Lorenzo Musetti and Taylor Fritz, the first matchup of the day. The second matchup is between Jannik Sinner and Canadian Auger-Aliassime.

These are two separate incidents. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 70-year-old man was hurt in the fan zone in Turin's Piazza d'Armi near the Inalpi Arena, while the 78-year-old man was hurt inside the arena during the match between Lorenzo Musetti, who replaced Novak Djokovic at the tournament, and Taylor Fritz, which ended with the American winning 6-3, 6-4.
According to the media in Italy, the paramedics intervened as quickly as they could. The two men were transported to the nearby Molinette hospital, they were admitted, but the doctors could not save the lives of the two.
The Tournament of Champions in Turin has 8 participants divided into two groups. Carlos Alcaraz, Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz and Lorenzo Musetti are part of the group “Jimmy Connors”. Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton and Felix Auger-Aliassime were assigned to the “Bjorn Borg” group.
The tournament of champions has a special format. Following the duels in the group, the first two places in each group will pair up in two semi-finals, after which the final will take place. Total prize money at the Turin Tournament of Champions is approximately $15 million. The winner will go home with $4 million.
