Former striker Ciprian Marica commented on the departure of coach Mirel Rădoi from Craiova University.

The shareholder of Farul Constanța claims that the separation between the two parties was inevitable, considering the tense atmosphere of the last period. Marica also gave advice to her former teammate from the national team.

“I want to refrain, nothing else, but… it's good that it finally ended somehow! Those poor people from Craiova were in a state of stress step by step, honestly! The discussions and the fact that he said countless times that he wanted to leave, that he was leaving, kept those there on continuous alert and looking for solutions and kept praying to him.

Rădoi, who is a very… but newer guy, I know Rădoi, because I spent so long with the national team. This position as a coach made him very sensitive, very tough. Very… The most appropriate for me, if I were to say something to Rădoi, well, you should buy your own club! You have to have your team, do what you want. Because otherwise you end up in these situations permanently.

He had another attempt to buy a team. He even declared that he wants to buy, to associate a job. It is the most appropriate, that he is not malleable at all, he wants to control everything and this can only happen if it is your team. Otherwise, there's no way you can do everything you want by yourself,” Marica told sport.ro.

Mirel Rădoi's departure comes after the team achieved its first victory in the Conference League on Thursday, 1-0 away from Rapid Viena, but lost on Sunday, in Bănie, against UTA Arad (1-2), in the Superleague.

Rădoi took over the team on January 28, after a first term at the University between August 9 and December 8, 2022. The University finished last season in third place, and Rădoi managed to qualify Sciința for the first time in the main phase of a European competition in the new format.

The university is in fourth place after 16 stages, with 29 points, being six lengths behind the leader FC Rapid Bucharest.
