Cristian Pomohaci, second arrest warrant in 24 hours. What are the new charges against the former priest
After being pre-arrested in a case of rape and sexual assault, former priest and current popular music singer Cristian Pomohaci is now facing a new court decision: another arrest warrant, this time for high-risk drug trafficking.

On Friday, June 5, the Mureș Court accepted the DIICOT prosecutors' proposal and ordered preventive arrest for 30 days, in a case opened for high-risk drug trafficking. It is the second arrest warrant issued in his name within 24 hours.
“On June 5, 2026, the criminal file no. 2285/102/2026 was registered on the role of the criminal section of the Mureş Court, respectively the proposal made by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the ÎCCJ, DIICOT, Târgu Mureş Territorial Service regarding the preventive arrest of a male person, investigated under the aspect of committing the crime of high-risk drug trafficking. By the criminal conclusion no. 45/June 5, 2026, the judge of rights and liberties within the Mureş Court accepted the preventive arrest proposal formulated by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the ÎCCJ, DIICOT, the Târgu Mureş Territorial Service and ordered his preventive arrest for a period of 30 days, starting from 06.05.2026 and ending on 07.04.2026, inclusive”the Mureş Court sent, according to Agerpres.
The magistrates also rejected the request made by Cristian Pomohaci's lawyer, who requested milder measures for his client, such as house arrest or judicial control
The decision is not final and can be appealed within 48 hours, both by the defendant and by the prosecutors.
We remind you that, a day ago, the Târgu Mureș Court had issued another preventive arrest warrant in the name of Cristian Pomohaci, in a separate file, in which he is accused of rape committed against a minor and sexual assault.
“From the research carried out so far, it emerged that, in the period 2024-2026, the person in question would have taken advantage of the state of vulnerability of some male minors, maintaining sexual relations with them, in exchange for sums of money and other material benefits”, IPJ Mureș sent.
In the same file, home searches took place, as a result of which sums of money in several currencies, estimated at approximately 2 million euros, were seized.
