On Tuesday, after 9 p.m., two wagons of the Polregio train derailed on the Miechów – Słomniki route in the province. Lesser Poland. There were about 20 people on the train, no one was hurt. “Referring to the incident that occurred in Małopolska, we would like to inform you that the railway commission carrying out activities at the scene of the incident ruled that there was no external interference. The rail was naturally broken due to low temperature. PKP repair equipment is being brought to the site, which will restore the functionality of the tracks,” the police wrote on Wednesday on the X portal.

The derailment of two Polregio train wagons occurred on Tuesday after 21.00 on the Miechów – Słomniki route in the province. Lesser Poland. There were about 20 people on the train, no one was hurt.

Long-distance trains run on changed routes. Replacement bus transport has been introduced.

The Małopolska police informed on The District Prosecutor's Office in Miechów was notified about the incident.

PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe reported that it is about the Kielce Główny – Kraków Główny train. – The trains are routed along a changed route through the Olkusz station with line no. 62 and through Trzebinia with line no. 133, as well as from the Katowice station through the Zawiercie station. – At the moment, it is too early to talk about the circumstances – Karol Jakubowski from the PKP PLK press office told PAP.

Polregio spokesman Jakub Leduchowski informed PAP that the carrier will provide passengers with the opportunity to continue their journey with replacement bus transport. He said that a commission is working on site to explain the circumstances of the incident.

As Hubert Ciepły, spokesman for the Małopolska State Fire Service, told PAP on Tuesday, “the train fell off the rails and tilted.”

PKP PLK informed that changes have been introduced in the timetable – passengers are informed about them at stations, stops and on the portalpasazera.pl website. (PAP)
