Poland is becoming the new industrial heart of Europe, although the sharp political conflict in the country may make it difficult to maintain the level of economic growth in the coming years – said the Spanish economic daily “Cinco Dias” on Monday.

“While Germany and France are struggling to revive their economies, a new industrial heart is beginning to beat east of the Oder,” the newspaper wrote about Poland.

According to data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), quoted by the daily, the growth of the Polish economy is expected to remain at over 3 percent in the coming years. annually.

“These forecasts are much higher than for most European economies,” the newspaper noted.

Poland owes its rapid economic growth to the development of industry, including: automotive and food industries, as well as thanks to higher spending in the defense sector – emphasized “Cinco Dias”. He added that EU funds also play an important role in the country's development.

However, the newspaper warned that “the political impasse is the main threat to Poland's economic growth prospects in the medium term.”

In this context, the daily mentions primarily the dispute between the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Karol Nawrocki.
