Obtaining the ASFR permit was preceded by track tests that began in June last year. At that time, not only the technical parameters were checked, but also the full cooperation of the vehicle's systems with the Romanian infrastructure.
Romanian expansion of the Bydgoszcz company
Pesa is implementing two contracts for the supply of trains to the Romanian market. The first is the Regional Vehicles (RE-R) contract, covering the delivery of 62 type 655-5 electric multiple units ordered in January 2024 for the Bucharest, Cluj and Suceava regions and for which the company has just received approval.
The second, parallel order concerns Inter-Regio vehicles (REIR) from December 2023 for the delivery of 29 units, including 20 from the basic order and nine from the option confirmed in April 2025.
