In the Republic of Khakassia, a criminal case has been opened into the death of a 64-year-old man in a fire, the press service of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia reported.
According to investigators, on the night of November 6-7 in the Ust-Abakan region, a gas leak occurred from a gas cylinder in a private house. The man’s 16-year-old grandson tried to take out the cylinder, but a mixture of gas and air ignited in the house.
As a result of the fire, the pensioner died at the scene from his injuries. His grandson received burns to his limbs and face and received medical assistance. Now the teenager's life is not in danger.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence). To establish the exact cause of the fire and the man’s death, fire-technical and forensic examinations have been ordered.
