Typhoon Fung-wong caused flooding and landslides, knocked out power to entire provinces and killed at least two people in the Philippines, according to CNN.
Fung-wong was the 21st storm to hit the island nation this year and came on the heels of Typhoon Kalmaegi, which last week killed 224 people in the country and another five in Vietnam.
More than a million people were evacuated before Fung-wong made landfall as a super typhoon in the city of Dinalungan in Aurora province on Sunday evening, Reuters reports.
Fung-wong hit the coastal municipality of Dinalungan on the main island of Luzon with sustained winds of up to 185 km/h and gusts of up to 230 km/h.

The typhoon damaged houses in the city of Santiago in northern Isabela province. Tree branches and electric poles were also downed by the typhoon.
“I couldn't sleep last night because of the wind hitting the metal sheets and the falling tree branches,” said Romeo Mariano, who was sheltering with his grandmother in their home.
“Almost all the nearby tree branches fell, and when we went out to check the house, we saw the damage,” he added.
At least two people were killed by the typhoon, according to a preliminary report from the Office of Civil Defense, and two others were injured.
Aurora Deputy Governor Patrick Alexis Angara said at least three towns were cut off by landslides and destroyed roads.
“Assessment and cleanup operations are ongoing,” Angara told DZMM television.
The state weather agency said the typhoon was now moving over the South China Sea and was forecast to head northeast toward Taiwan.
Forecasters warned that much of the country was still experiencing heavy rain and strong winds, as well as high waves in coastal areas.
More than 400 flights have been canceled since Sunday, the civil aviation regulator said.
