After the victory against Elliot Spizzirri (24 years old, ranked 85th in the world) in the third round of the Australian Open, the second tennis player of the world, Jannik Sinner (24 years old), talked about the terrible moments he went through during the match, about the cramps that tormented him, but he told how he tried to stay calm and to prevail in the end, score 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Jannik Sinner suffered in the duel with Elliot Spizzirri in the 3rd round of the Australian Open: he vomited, he had cramps, he could barely move on the court in the third set, but in the end he managed to win, somehow helped by an organizational decision that stopped the match and gave him more time to breathe.
Immediately after qualifying in the eighth, Sinner reacted from the field, visibly exhausted:
First of all, he is an incredible player, he played excellently today and I am sure he will have a great season. I suffered a little bit physically, I saw that. I was lucky they closed the roof, I bought time and felt better as time went on.
I hope this gives me a boost. The tournaments we won were always difficult matches, we'll see. Thank you for your support, it meant a lot to me on Saturday.

What did Sinner think when he was close to giving up
When you go through the ordeal Jannik Sinner went through on Saturday night in Melbourne, the inevitable question is what was going through his mind in those moments when he was losing and on the verge of giving up.
“A lot went through my head. It started with my leg, then it went to my arm, everywhere… It's sports, I know it's a segment of tennis that I have to improve on. We're working on it every day, the team is pushing me in the right direction.
However, tennis is a mental sport, I tried to stay as calm as possible, fight and play every point as well as possible. I tried until the end and I saw how it ended”, added the former world leader, quoted by sportal.blic.rs.
Finally, Sinner was asked if he would ask for the roof to be closed for every match.
“I have a good record when it's closed! I know I have to play in hot conditions if I want the title, it's like that everywhere. Let's move on, I'll give my best, now recovery is the most important,” concluded the Italian.
To qualify for the quarterfinals, Sinner will play against compatriot Luciano Darderi (23 years old, 25th ATP).
