It is not quiet at all in Bosnia before the match with Romaniafor over a week, from the penultimate stage of the 2026 World Cup preliminaries. Bosnia – Romania, in the preliminaries of the 2026 World Championship, will be played on Saturday, November 15, from 21:45, in Zenica. The match will be liveTEXT on GSP.ro and on TV on Prima TV
Central defender Stjepan Radeljic (28 years old), who was announced as injuredtherefore unavailable for this month's national action, was holder for his club team, Rijeka, in Sunday night's match, losing in the league, away, score 0-1, against Varaždin.
Announced injured, the Bosnia player was a starter for the club team
The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina officially announced on Saturday, November 8, that Stjepan Radeljic is injured and, for this reason, will not be able to participate in the upcoming call-up of the national team for the matches against Romania and Austria.
However, it seems that there was a major misunderstanding, according to sportsport.ba. Despite the federation's announcement, Radeljic was included in Rijeka's starting line-up for the championship match against Varaždin.
He started from the first minute of Sunday's game and played for 80 minutes, a sign that it is not an injury and that, in reality, this is not the reason for not being called up to the national team.
Seeing the starting teams and his appearance in the first 11, Bosnian journalists reacted immediately, extremely confused and at the same time indignant: “It begs a completely logical question: Who's crazy here?”they wrote, trying to understand what is actually happening to the player.
The Bosnia-Romania match is expected to be a crucial one for our national team. The “Tricolori” still have a mathematical chance for first place, but second place seems much more realistic. Romania is 3rd, with 10 points, 5 behind the leader Austria. Bosnia is on 2, with 13 points.
In the event that Romania does not finish in 2nd place, it is guaranteed its presence in the play-offs due to its progress in the League of Nations.
