Dominic Fritz (41 years old), the mayor of Timisoara, announced that the City Hall will also be involved in the association that took over the city team.
At the end of April, Alfred Simonis announced that the team will bear the name of Science Poli Timișoara Club Sportiv Sportiv and will be taken over by an association from the Timiș County Council and the Polytechnic University.
Now, through a message posted on social networks, Dominic Fritz said that Timisoara City Hall will be involved in “Renaissance of Poli”.

“Poli renews. I gladly announce that we decided to enter an association: Timișoara City Hall, the County Council and the Polytechnic University, which will carry on the inheritance of the Poli club for Timisoara.
Here, I greet you from inside the new stadium that will be ready for the year. Now, the club plays in Liga 3, but it is fighting for promotion and we want to play until the big stadium is ready, in Buziaș. And with this new association we take this club and we will be able to access a completely different funds than it was the case.
Many years of waiting and frustration now have an end and begins a new era for Timisoara football. I, on my part, promise you that we will leave the club in the hands of the professionals, the politicians will not be put.
But, it is important for Timișoara to support this project that I am sure will unite our local community. I can hardly wait to see the first match here over a year ”, said Dominic Fritz, the mayor of Timisoara, on his personal Facebook page.
Poli Timișoara is currently a mathematically qualified in the promotion dam for Liga 2. Five teams will promote from Liga 3 in Liga 2 at the end of the season. 20 teams, the first two of the 10 play-off groups, will qualify for the dam semifinals. Later there will be 10 bands, which will dispute the second phase of the dam. The 5 winners will promote in Liga 2.
