The PSD MP Mihai Fifor criticizes, on Saturday, “this nonsense with the former PSD senator” in the case of the character who tried to compromise the Minister of Defense, Ionuţ Moşteanu, stating that Marius Isăilă was kicked out of the PSD in 2014, then moved to the UNPR, informs News.ro.
“God, how much more is this nonsense about “former PSD senator” in the case of the character who was trying to compromise Moşteanu. Isăilă, because we are talking about him, was kicked out of the PSD in 2014, right after the DNA started the criminal investigation against him. That is, 11 or so years ago”, says Fifor on Facebook.
The social democrat specifies that, from that moment, Isăilă moved to the UNPR and was active as a UNPR senator for another year, until the final conviction, when his mandate as a senator was revoked.
“So let it be easier with the “former PSD senator”, because you don't. I know it goes well with the public, but this time it doesn't last. Try somewhere else”, comments Fifor.
Harsh reply from the PNL after the PSD Congress: “A party in full moral and political disintegration”
DNA announced, on Friday, that a person who wanted to give one million euros to the Minister of Defense, believing that he could exert his influence on the management of Romtehnica in order to induce it to conclude contracts with a private company, was detained by DNA prosecutors and subsequently pre-arrested for 30 days by the Bucharest Court for buying influence. The prosecutors specify that, on October 9 and 15, in Bucharest, the defendant indirectly promised, through a person (witness in question), the sum of 1 million euros for the Minister of Defense, promises that were reiterated on October 24, the defendant believing that the Minister of Defense could influence the management of CN Romtehnica SA, with the Ministry of Defense as the sole shareholder, to conclude commercial contracts with a private company.
“The crime of buying influence was committed in a state of post-execution recidivism, the defendant previously serving a prison sentence imposed for the commission of other corruption crimes. The defendant was informed of the procedural quality and the charges”, the DNA also transmitted.
A former PSD senator was detained by the DNA after he promised interventions to the Minister of Defense. Moșteanu: “He tried to buy my influence with one million euros”
According to some judicial sources, the person in question is the former PSD senator from Dâmboviţa Marius Ovidiu Iisăilă. He has a final sentence, from 2016, to five years and four months in prison with execution. Isăilă was also sent to court by the DNA on July 23, 2014 for influence peddling and inciting forgery in privately signed documents.
The Minister of Defense, Ionuţ Mosteanu stated that he “categorically” refused any meeting “with that person”, that he is a witness in the case and that he “fully” supports the authorities for “clarifying the facts”.
