Massive Russian attack on power plants. “Rockets and drones targeted several times a minute”
“A never-before-seen number of missiles and countless drones that targeted several times a minute the same thermal power plants that we rebuilt after the devastating attack in 2024,” the company emphasized.
It was noted that not even a month had passed since the previous attack, and tonight Russia simultaneously attacked the entire Centrenerho production. “We have stopped (…). Currently, energy production is zero. Zero! We have lost what we were rebuilding around the clock. Completely!” – said the company. In the spring of 2024, Centrenerho was completely cut off after Russian attacks.
The equipment was severely damaged
Centrenerho stressed that it will renovate, repair and implement new generation technology. The energy company operates two thermal power plants: Trypilskaya in the Kiev Oblast, which supplies electricity to, among others, the capital of the country, and Zmijivskaya in the Kharkiv region.

“Russia again attacked the DTEK thermal power plant. The equipment was seriously damaged. We are working to remove the effects of the shelling,” we read in the Telegram messenger. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK thermal power plants have been attacked more than 210 times.
The transmission system operator Ukrenerho announced that electricity consumption restrictions on Sunday will apply in most regions 24 hours a day. According to Ukrenerho, schedules of hourly interruptions in electricity supply to the population will be introduced on a rotation basis, from two to four time blocks per day. Restrictions will also apply in industry 24 hours a day.
Ukrenerho specified that due to the difficult situation in the energy system caused by Russian shelling, on Saturday the restrictive measures would have to remain in force until the end of the day, and not – as previously announced – until 9 p.m. for the public and until 22 for industry.
