The leaders of the coalition, worried that Ponta did not collapse in polls. Former PSD leader can send Nicușor Dan to final sources

PSD and PNL leaders were worried that Victor Ponta had not collapsed in opinion polls after disclosure about flooding Romania to the detriment of Serbia. George Simion is still at 30%, while Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan are shoulder shoulder in the surveys ordered by the ruling coalition, political sources say for Adevărul.

Victor Ponta passes 10%, but beyond percentages, any vote received by Ponta removes Crin Antonescu from the presidential final. Marcel Ciolacu will discuss with each mayor to convince him to shoot for Crin Antonescu, not for Victor Ponta.
One week before the first round of the presidential elections, the ruling coalition sounded the final mobilization for Crin Antonescu. Despite the optimistic messages displayed in the public space, PSD and PNL leaders were worried about private discussions with mayors. “Everyone expected Ponta to collapse in polls after the Iron Gates. Ponta has decreased, it is true, but there is still a danger to Crin Antonescu. Break exactly from our electorate ”says one of the PSD leaders.
The surveys ordered by the ruling coalition show that George Simion is still 30%, but can increase in the last week of the campaign, if the theme “Tour two back” will be reheated. The surprising sentence of the Ploiești Court of Appeal, by which the decision to cancel the elections has been invalidated, has already lit Călin Georgescu's electorate on social networks. Although the decision is not a definitive one, the leaders of the Coalition was expected to favorable political effects to George Simion.
Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan are shoulder shoulder in the polls commanded by the PSD, with a slight advantage for the common candidate of the ruling coalition. “Crin is in second place, below 25%, at a difference of 1-2 percent of Nicușor. But the difference can be canceled on the last hundred meters by the useful vote or the vote of the diaspora, which is not measured in polls. So it will be a very close dispute for the final qualification”, I say the sources quoted.
Victor Ponta remains a threat to Crin Antonescu. Even if it is quoted at 10-12%, the former prime minister breaks consistent in the PSD electorate, shows the coalition surveys. So every extra vote for Ponta is a minus vote for Crin Antonescu. In fact, PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu explained to the social-democratic mayors that a vote for Ponta means, in reality, a vote for Nicușor Dan, given that the general mayor is fighting with Crin Antonescu for the final qualification.
The coming days, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will talk to each PSD mayor in order to make sure they will shoot for Crin Antonescu, not for Ponta. “Some mayors play at two ends, that's clear. We hope there are not many. Ponta spoke with many PSD local elected officials and promised them that PSD would remain in government and will still have prime minister if he will become president”, Says one of the leaders of the coalition.
Another unknown in the ruling coalition is PNL mobilization. The social-democratic leaders suspect that part of the liberal mayors are on the side of Nicușor Dan, despite the messages transmitted by Ilie Bolojan and by Cătălin Predoiu. “The most disciplined are the ones from UDMR ”concludes the sources cited.
