Oradea honored its legend » The stadium vibrated in memory of Emeric Ienei, at the match of Bihor in League 2

Exciting atmosphere in Oradea, at the match between FC Bihor and Tunaricontested in League 2, stage 13. The match was preceded by a special moment in memory of Emeric Ienei, the legendary coach of Stela and one of the great personalities of Romanian football, who he passed away at 88 years old on November 5, 2025.

Originally from Oradea, Emeric Ienei was honored by the supporters of Bihor with banners, chants and applause.

The ultras displayed two huge messages on the lawn: “Emerich Ienei – national value, the legend will never disappear!” and “From Bihor to heaven the angels carried you, Emeric Ienei – forever unforgettable!”.

After the moment of silence, the stadium announcer delivered an emotional message: “Dear viewers, such people never die! Just exchange the earthly wardrobe for a heavenly one. Applause for Emeric Ienei!“. There were about 800 people at the match.

In the 17th minute, the stadium announcer delivered another message: “Ladies and gentlemen, please applaud Anghel Iordănescu, the disciple of Emeric Ienei“.

The arena erupted in applause, and the fans chanted in memory of the one who brought Romania the greatest performance in history at club level: winning the European Champions Cup in 1986 with Steaua Bucharest.

Nea Imi, from above you know, we will always love you!” – chanted in unison the approximately 600 supporters present.

Important names from Romanian football were also present at the match, including Anghel Iordănescu, George Ogăraru and Claudiu Keșeru. They all received applause from the public, as well as the representatives of the Romanian Football Federation, Răzvan Burleanu, Gabriel Bodescu and Mihai Stoichiță.
