7 November 11:36

The hero of the Great Patriotic War and an honorary resident of the city, Nikolai Sergeevich Snopkov, died in Krasnoyarsk. The administration of the Sverdlovsk region spoke about this.

Nikolai Sergeevich was born on May 15, 1925 in the village of Lobino, Krasnoozersky district, Novosibirsk region. After completing seven years of schooling, he went to work as an auxiliary worker at a railway depot. In May 1943 he went to the front. At first he fought as a shooter, later as a scout.

Comrades at the front respected Nikolai Sergeevich for his courage and character. Once he single-handedly destroyed six fascists and captured three. He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree, and the Zhukov Medal.

After the war, Nikolai Sergeevich came to Altai, where he worked at the Lesnaya Polyana fur farm. In 1949 he met his future wife Maria Nikolaevna. Together they raised three children, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

“Nikolai Sergeevich led a healthy lifestyle, did not smoke and did not succumb to bad habits, and was an example for children. Front-line soldier, intelligence officer, man with a capital letter. Such people are a source of pride. Happy memory to the hero!” — expressed condolences to the veteran’s family and friends in the district administration.

Let us remind you that the day before, Krasnoyarsk resident Maria Nikolaevna Chistyakova celebrated her 100th birthday. The woman was born in the Tambov region, later moved to Lipetsk. In my youth I encountered the Great Patriotic War: I saw the Germans face to face, dug trenches, and helped the front.

In the 60s, Maria Nikolaevna came to Krasnoyarsk, got a job at a tire factory, where she worked until retirement at a machine for vulcanizing aircraft tires.
