Russian Shaheda fell 40 km from the Polish air base with the NATO patrol – Defense Express

The fall of the drone, which the media identified as Shahed, occurred in the corn field in the area of the village of Osina in the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland. The Polish military said that it was a Russian Dron-Primanka, it has no warhead, but is equipped with explosives for self-destruction. “Apparently, he flew very low to avoid our radars in sight,” the general said Darius Malinovsky. The Polish government was called a provocation from the Russian Federation.

Defense Express notes that the drone flew into the territory of Poland to a depth of about 100 km.

“Russian Shaheda symbolically fell 40 km from the air base of the Polish air forces, which houses the NATO air patrol, which should additionally strengthen the country's protection from air attacks. […] The question is, why did this happen, ”the newspaper writes.

Its authors pay attention to the fact that Warsaw regularly reports an aircraft rise to the sky during Russian massive attacks in Ukraine.

“For the Poles, this is a completely understandable constant threat. Also, the Polish armed forces cannot complain about the lack of funds,” Media notes.

The media listed the air defense systems that are in Poland: F-16, FA-50, MiG-29 fighters, long-range radar detection aircraft (DRLO) SAAB 340 AEW, radar systems on balloons.

“But this is not all, because in Poland there is a joint mission of NATO for air patrols and the country's aircraft are placed at the alliance states to strengthen security. In particular, two weeks ago, the 23rd Mazowiecki air base is accommodated by five German Eurofighter fighters,” explained Defense Express.

He admitted that the Poles could not close their border with terrestrial radar to identify low -altitude targets, but called the method that Warsaw could use for his air defense.

“To keep one DRLO plane in the sky for three to six hours in the air (namely, Shahed from the Russian Federation to Poland during Russian attacks on Ukraine can fly to the air), as well as one on-duty pair on Earth, as it seems, quite possible. Moreover, except for two of the AWACS of the AWACS, in Poland is now the Australian E-7A,” writes Defense Express.
