A descendant of the Decembrist Davydov and the family of the composer Tchaikovsky visited Krasnoyarsk

Georgy Davydov, a direct descendant of the Decembrist Vasily Lvovich Davydov and the family of the composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, arrived in Krasnoyarsk for a visit.

On November 6, he, together with employees of the local history museum, visited the grave of his great-great-grandfather at the Trinity Cemetery, took part in the memorial service and laid flowers, the press service reported.
The monument at the grave of the Decembrist, which is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance, was restored for the 170th anniversary of the death of Vasily Davydov. By that time, the monument was already in need of restoration.
Georgy Davydov – Doctor of Economics, editor-in-chief of the Bulletin of Transport Information magazine, honorary worker of transport in Russia. Previously, he had already donated valuable family heirlooms to the local history museum: photographs of children Vasily Davydov and his grandson's hunting flask.
Let us remember that Vasily Davydov lived in Krasnoyarsk for the last 16 years of his life. His house became the center of the cultural life of the city – an enlightened society gathered there, literary and musical evenings were held. The Decembrist founded a home school for his own children and the children of his friends, which became the prototype of the first Krasnoyarsk gymnasium.
