The Razem Party fights against speculation. New tax bill in the Sejm

On Wednesday, November 5, at the beginning of the Sejm session, MP Adrian Zandberg, on behalf of the Razem Group, announced the submission of a draft bill on the anti-speculation tax on the third apartment. As he emphasized, the aim of the project is to combat rising real estate prices and speculation on the housing market.

Adrian Zandberg comments on the submission of the project. “Housing prices are sick”
— Apartment prices are sick. This is largely due to speculation on the housing market. That's why during the campaign I put a speculative tax proposal on the table. It was verbally supported by, among others, Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz, and although government politicians have millions in subsidies, nothing has happened in this matter with legions of lawyers. There is no point in waiting any longer. Today he is presenting a proposed bill. This is a small test of whether you really want to lower housing prices. Sign it, let's do it together, said Adrian Zandberg in the Sejm.

Anti-speculation tax. What does the Razem party propose?
According to the draft law prepared by the Razem Party, the new anti-speculation tax will cover people and entities that own three or more apartments. The first two premises will be completely tax-free.
The proposal assumes progressive scale of taxation: :
- From three to five apartments – rate 1 percent real estate values,
- From six to eight apartments — 2 percent,
- From the ninth and subsequent — 3 percent values.
The project provides for exceptions for real estate owned by local governments, social housing associations and social housing initiatives. The real estate valuation system is to be based on the Real Estate Price Register, which, as Razem argues, is to ensure transparency and uniform rules for determining the value of apartments.
Marcelina Zawisza also commented on the submission of the project. “Large parties with millions of subsidies were unable to prepare a project. Ministries with an army of legislators did not prepare a solution. Razem is not waiting. The bill is ready!” – wrote the Razem MP.
