Not only drought, but also the growing cultivation costs mean that this year the inhabitants of many regions of Germany will probably pay a lot more for Christmas trees. The Federal Association of Christmas tree and cut greenery producers has already raised the recommended price by 1 euros (approx. PLN 4 25 gr). Currently, the range is from 23 euros (approx. PLN 98) to 30 euros (approx. 127 PLN) per meter of Caucasian fir.
The largest region of Christmas trees in Germany is Sauerland in the western part of the country. Most trees sold at our western neighbors come from domestic producers. However, imports from other countries, such as Poland or Denmark, also bloom. Perhaps this year it will be even greater than in the past.

The trees are bred from small cuttings and reach customers after a few years. Due to drought and frosts that haunted Germany in recent years, there may be shortcomings on the market. The owner of one of the companies from Brandenburg claims that his losses in young trees reach up to 40 percent.

The Christmas trees will be cut for Christmas from November 20. A little earlier, larger companies can start this process that provide their trees to larger supermarkets. Everything will end shortly before Christmas Eve.
