DAAS Epta Romania, part of the international Epta group, inaugurated the first Training Center dedicated to refrigeration technicians in Romania, located in Ploiesti. The investment, of over 500,000 euros, represents an important step in the professionalization of the refrigeration field and positions Romania as a regional hub of excellence.
The center offers practical and theoretical courses on four levels, from beginners to specialists, integrating both technical skills and soft skills sessions. DAAS teams ensure that the training is hands-on, with state-of-the-art equipment: refrigeration systems with natural agents, electrical panels, heat pumps and “best in class” showcases.
Ciprian Gherghe, project manager and After Sales Retail Director, explains: “The first batch of trainees consists of DAAS employees from various departments and is intended to optimize the content of future programs. Training technicians is an ongoing process, and we invest in people to support long-term excellence and innovation.”
Classes are designed for small groups, maximum 8 people, to ensure individual attention. Participants are assessed through daily tests and weekly assessments, and the infrastructure includes the Epta showroom, modern theory rooms and emerging technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
Daniel Mocanu, General Director of DAAS Epta Romania, emphasizes: “The private sector is taking a concrete step in professional training, where the public system still has a major deficit. We want to build a generation of technically well-trained specialists connected to the digital reality of the industry.”
The center will work with technical high schools, universities and professional associations to attract young people to stable careers in the field of refrigeration. In addition, DAAS is strengthening its status as a regional center of excellence for telemonitoring (TLM) services, with the goal of managing more than 3,000 locations by the end of 2025 in Epta Group's international markets.
Through this initiative, DAAS Epta Romania shows that investment in education and technology is not only an internal priority, but a strategic step for the entire refrigeration industry.
