FCSB, request to UEFA after the death of Emeric Ienei

In the day the death of Emeric IenaFCSB made a request to UEFA that the players can wear black armbands in the match against Basel, in the single group of the Europa League. The red-blues also requested a moment of silence in memory of the former great coach.

FCSB will meet Basel away on Thursday, from 19:45, in the fourth stage of the single group in the Europa League. The match will be played one day after the death of Emeric Ienei.

The legendary coach, who won the Champions Cup in 1986, died on Wednesday, November 5, at the age of 88.

To honor the memory of one of the greatest Romanian coaches in history, FCSB asked UEFA to allow the red-blue players to wear black armbands in the game against Basel. In addition, the Romanian champions asked for a moment of silence for Emeric Ienei

“We should wear black armbands in his memory,” FCSB attacking midfielder Florin Tănase said at the conference in Switzerland ahead of the game with Basel.

The former coach of Stella will be buried with military honors on Saturday, at 14:00, at the Rulikowski Municipal Cemetery in Oradea. FCSB will have representatives at the funeral of Emeric Ieneithe team playing on Sunday in Sibiu, with Hermannstadadt, in the 16th stage of League 1.
