The safest integration strategy for intermittent renewable energy production, which puts the least pressure on distribution and transmission networks, is one where the consumption curve follows the production curve. Simple to say, hard to do, and at the level of a home, prosumer proof, but at the level of a country.

The Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has taken the first step in this regard by developing a draft order, which transposes the principles of a regulation of the European Parliament, whereby consumers, respectively suppliers or aggregators of consumers (active on the spot market, but not those who are qualified as balancing service providers and participating in the system services market), can be paid to reduce their consumption during the hourly intervals in which renewable production is low.
