Donald Trump threatens Nigeria. “Disgraced Country”

Trump emphasized in a post on the Truth Social social networking site that the US government would immediately suspend all aid and support to Nigeria.
The United States can “certainly enter this disgraced country with full force to completely annihilate the Islamic terrorists who are committing these terrible atrocities,” the US president said.
Earlier, Nigeria was again on the list of countries monitored by the US administration due to concerns about the scope of religious freedom. She was previously included on the list for the same reason during Trump's first presidential term. It was removed a year later during former Democratic President Joe Biden's term.

A few weeks ago, US senator from the Republican Party, Ted Cruz, stated that there are “mass murders of Christians” in Nigeria and appealed to Congress to declare the country a country violating religious freedom.
Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the decision did not reflect the actual situation on the ground, the AP reported.
“Religious freedom and tolerance have been and always will be a fundamental tenet of our collective identity,” Tinubu said. — Nigeria opposes religious persecution. (…) Constitutional guarantees protect citizens of all religions.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Africa's most populous country also expressed opposition to the US allegations. “The federal government of Nigeria will continue to defend all citizens, regardless of race, creed or religion,” ministry spokesman Kimiebi Ebienfa said in a statement on Saturday. “Like America, Nigeria has no choice but to celebrate diversity, which is our greatest strength.”
