During the interview, the journalist asked Feigin whether it can be considered that there is no talk of a truce in the coming months.
“It doesn’t work. I believe that in the coming months, until the end of 2025, there are no prerequisites for this, there is no possibility for this,” the blogger replied. “The means that could contribute to this – I don’t say lead to peace, but specifically contribute – they have not been used, they have not been applied, first of all by America, partly by Europe.”
Feigin added that he does not see a way how this can be achieved.
“Why [нелегитимный российский президент Владимир] Will Putin change his position instantly tomorrow or in a month? I don’t see these factors,” the blogger emphasized.
In his opinion, given Putin’s lack of desire to end the war in Ukraine, these factors that could push him to do so have not yet arisen.
“If we act uniformly, consolidated Europe, America […] Don't do as he does [президент США Дональд] Trump: says something and doesn’t do it, promises and doesn’t do it […] Putin reasons the same way: “Yes, I’ll call him, say something, chat, and he’ll move away from this topic,” Feigin pointed out.
According to the blogger, if you act this way, you can further create a threat to yourself as a “frivolous, inconsistent, weak politician” who “cannot apply peace through force.”
“Therefore, by the end of the year I don’t see that anything will change. November-December remains. Next year, probably, there will be new circumstances,” Feigin concluded.
Context
The media wrote that US intelligence sees no signs that the aggressor country of the Russian Federation is ready to compromise in the war against Ukraine. At the same time, Putin has become “more persistent than ever” in his desire to continue fighting and achieve victory on the battlefield.
Despite heavy losses among troops and economic problems within the Russian Federation, Putin is determined to maintain control over Ukrainian territories and expand Moscow’s influence in order to justify the human and financial sacrifices due to the war, according to American intelligence.
