In November, Krasnoyarsk residents will be able to see the largest supermoon of the year and five starfalls at once

November 1 8:27
At the Reshetnev University Observatory they told what spectacular astronomical phenomena can be observed in Krasnoyarsk in the last month of autumn.
The main event in the November sky will be Hunter's supermoon – the largest in 2025. A huge moon will rise over Krasnoyarsk on November 5 at 20:20. This rare full moon will appear 7.9% larger and 16% brighter than normal.
In addition, this month it will be possible to observe five meteor showers:
- Southern Taurids – November 4-5 (5-10 “falling” stars per hour);
- Northern Taurids – November 11-12 (up to 5 meteors per hour);
- Leonids (the most spectacular starfall of the month) – November 16-17 (15-20 meteors per hour);
- Alpha Monocerotides – November 21-22 (up to 5 meteors per hour);
- November Orionids – November 27-28 (up to 3 meteors per hour).
“Of course, the most famous and numerous is the Leonids meteor shower. This year, observing conditions are favorable – the Moon in a phase close to the new moon will not interfere with visibility. In 1966, during the Leonid meteor storm, earthlings observed 10,000 meteors per hour, that's 2 or 3 meteors per second! But we will have to wait, such a storm can only happen again in 2099“, — said the head of the observatory of Reshetnev University Sergei Veselkov.
Visibility of planets in November: neyes – Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune,trom – Venus.
“Don't miss the opportunity to observe Saturn almost without rings in November! November 26 is the second passage of the Earth through the plane of Saturn’s rings,” added Sergei Veselkov.
