A 22-year-old telephone scam courier will stand trial in Krasnoyarsk. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.
Two elderly people contacted the police department and reported that they had become victims of telephone scammers. The total amount of damage amounted to more than 440 thousand rubles. The attackers introduced themselves as employees of the Central Bank and law enforcement agencies. They informed the victims that their funds needed to be declared, after which the funds would supposedly be returned to the owners. Man 85 years old. I gave the courier, who arrived after the “specialists” called, my savings in the amount of 301 thousand rubles. And a 79-year-old resident of the Leninsky district lost 145 thousand rubles.
Department of Internal Affairs officers identified the accomplice of the remote deceivers. He turned out to be a resident of the regional capital, who acted as a courier and transferred the stolen money to the “organizer” of the fraudulent scheme.

“During the investigation, the police established that in October last year, a young man, in need of part-time work, responded to a dubious vacancy. The “curator” of the scammers offered the accused the role of a “courier” with earnings of 2.5% of each proceeds,” law enforcement officers said.
Thanks to the actions of the police officers, the damage in the amount of 131 thousand rubles caused by the illegal actions of the accused was partially compensated.
A criminal case was opened against the assistant of telephone scammers under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. He is now in custody.
