Huge prizes at the 2025 Tournament of Champions. WTA throws record sums into play

The 2025 Champions Tournament will take place in Riyadh from November 1 to 8 and is set to be the richest in the history of women's tennis. The WTA announced a total prize fund of $15.5 million, an amount that exceeds even the prizes offered at the Grand Slam tournaments.

The competition brings together the eight best players of the year, divided into two groups of four, and the “one-on-one” system guarantees spectacle and tension in every match.
The winner can walk home with a whopping $5.235 million check if she finishes the tournament undefeated. Even a single loss in the groups reduces the prize to 4.88 million. By comparison, Simona Halep collected 2.2 million euros for the Roland Garros 2018 trophy.

The first matches are played on November 1, and the final is scheduled for November 8.
Simona Halep, elite ambassador for the 2025 Tournament of Champions
The former Roland Garros and Wimbledon champion was appointed ambassador of the tournament, alongside Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza and Ons Jabeur. Simona will participate in events dedicated to fans, photo sessions and actions to promote the competition.
Halep was five times present at the Tournament of Champions (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019). At her debut in 2014, the Romanian reached the final, defeated by Serena Williams 6-3, 6-0, after she had crushed her 6-0, 6-2 in the groups.
The 2025 Champions Tour promises not only gala tennis, but also a demonstration of the financial strength that the WTA is gaining under the new partnership with Saudi Arabia.
